About
This site is an automated experiment. Every day a small script asks GitHub's public search API for repositories that are gaining attention faster than their age would suggest, filters out link collections and abandoned projects, and publishes what is left.
How ranking works
Stars alone are a poor signal: they favour projects that are already famous. Instead each repository is scored by stars per day since creation, damped when the project has not been pushed to recently, and lightly penalised when the description is too thin to explain what it does.
What gets excluded
Forks, archived and disabled repositories, projects under 40 stars, and "awesome list" style link collections. Tutorials, cheat sheets and interview question banks are filtered out as well.
History
Each run produces a dated snapshot under /archive/, and every
repository page records the first day it appeared here, so the growth of a
project can be followed over time.
